Asia believes that everyone can live a life where they can feel fulfilled, regardless of what obstacles and challenges life has thrown at them. She uses a humanistic, trauma-informed approach to therapy and aims to help clients have a better understanding of their feelings and experiences so that they can become a stronger, healthier version of themselves. Licensed in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, she primarily works with trauma, anxiety, and anger management and is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy.
Growing up in a military family, moving to different states and countries every year of her childhood, Asia developed a keen interest in understanding people and their emotions from an early age. This innate curiosity led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Virginia State University. After completing her undergraduate studies, Asia felt led to support the mental and emotional well-being of those who experienced trauma in their lives. She pursued a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Baltimore. Over the years, she gained extensive experience working in various clinical settings, including community mental health centers, crisis intervention centers, private practices, and hospitals. She is driven to cultivate a safe therapeutic environment and facilitate profound personal growth and healing.
While Asia cherishes her work as a therapist, she is beginning to recognize the systemic challenges hindering the effectiveness of mental health services. Motivated by a desire to enact broader change, she has transitioned into roles to help supervise and train future mental health professionals as well as optimize and standardize processes within mental health organizations. Drawing upon her clinical training and work experience in different settings, she implements innovative strategies to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve the overall quality of care delivered to clients.
In her free time, Asia enjoys traveling, playing VR games, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
